8 STEUBEN ART GLASS #8055 CORDIAL GLASSES. The pattern is #8055, a discontinued line designed by Daniel Pollard in the 1940's. Each cordial stands about 4 tall with a decorative teardrop dimple in the thick solid base. The underside of each base is marked with the Steuben signature. The set comes in a storage box from the Julius Garfinckel luxury department store in Washington, DC (now closed). Each glass has its own felt storage pouch. Steuben Glass is one of Americas most cherished producers of collectible crystal. The company was founded in 1903 by an enterprising Englishman named Fredrick C.

Carder and his partner Thomas G. Steuben Glass, a division of Corning Incorporated, made the purest crystal in the world using a tightly guarded formula for a clear, colorless, material that is unmatched in purity, clarity and reflective properties. Recognized as the world's foremost artisan glass house, Steuben glass was hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning, New York until the company closed its doors in 2011. After the company was repurchased by Corning, production resumed in 2014. Condition of this #8055 Steuben cordial glass set is EXCELLENT with no chips, cracks, or fleabites.

The glass is crystal clear with no cloudiness or haze. The underside of each base shows very little sign of wear, suggesting that the set was barely used.
