Assembled around the glass without the use of screws or cold connections, the bottom spirals were soldered together to create the bronze mount. Obviously missing the terminals of the arms where they meet the lip of the vase. The only comparable I know of is one I saw about 35 years ago, when Sotheby's was still in Chicago. A similar piece was offered in one of their sales, and there were favrile balls at the end of the arms, but I believe Sotheby's believed they were replacement pieces.
It was so long ago I'm not sure, and we may never know unless some new info. An important piece of Tiffany history, for sure, and really gorgeous. The glass is loose in the mounting, but cannot be removed. It measures 6.5 tall overall. Condition is Excellent and Original with no damage to the glass.
Patina is dark brown, with some loss associated, but is original and untouched. The item "Early Louis C. Tiffany Favrile Glass Bronze Mounted Decorated Vase" is in sale since Monday, June 05, 2017.
