MARK: Signed " Fenton Hand Painted by " (please see photo provided). CONDITION: We are offering for sale a beautiful Fenton Violets in the Snow #9308 DV Student Lamp. The lamp is signed (see photo), by Fenton artist, Nancy Gribble. The hand painting is delicate and well done. This stunning lamp is in Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage. The brass parts of the lamp are in undamaged condition as well, although they are dulled from age. The lamp has a heavy marble base.The lamp works and lights up at the top only. Violets in The Snow - Decorated Violets (DV), introduced in July 1968 was the first Louise Piper decoration developed for Fenton. Inspiration for the decoration came from Carl Voigt, a Fenton sales representative from New York. The decoration consists of small hand-painted violets on a milk glass background. The pattern later became known as Violets in the Snow.
This pattern was extremely popular and stayed in the Fenton line until 1884. While Silver Crest was the pattern most often decorated with the Violets.
