For your consideration, a monumental trumpet vase by Lundberg Studios in gold art glass with pulled feather decoration, attached metal base, and certificate of authenticity from the studio. This vase, along with many of our other listings, is being offered at no reserve. This vase begins with its stunning coloration of what James Lundberg refers to as peach blossom , a color effect named for the pink iridescence that transmits an orange hue of light. The pinkish tones are most notable toward the flared mouth of the vase where they meld with gold and purple to create an ethereal ground.
Against this ground, both the vibrant gold interior wash, complete with jeweled iridescence, and the incredibly well-defined pulled feather decoration of smoky purple quartz are highlighted with elegance. The gentle ribbing of the vase accentuates the artistic masterwork of Lundbergs glass crafting as it helps to draw the eye downward and showcases the lines of the pulled feather design, continuing to become smaller and yet still distinct all the way to the point of the vase where it meets its patinated base of high Art Nouveau styling. The vase supports are reminiscent of stylized petals while the round foot is fashioned into a pulled lily pad type design serving to complete the floriform effect James Lundberg was so proud of mastering.
