RARE 1880's Pink Cased Satin Art Glass Quilted MOP Enamel Decorated Tumbler
Rare Antique Victorian 1880's Pink Cased Satin Art Glass Quilted MOP Enamel Floral Decorated Tumbler This 1880's Mother of Pearl cased quilted tumbler is very hard to find with the hand painted enamel decoration. This one is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or fleabites and minimal wear to surfaces commensurate with age. The beautiful color gradient goes from a light pink at the bottom to a rich cranberry at the top. The thick enamel paint decoration depicts lovely white and lavender blue flowers, with thickly applied gold leaves and branches, accented with white lavender blue buds. The tumbler was made in the 1880's either by Mt Washington Glass works or Phoenix Consolidated glass. It measures 3 3/4" tall x 2 5/8" wide rim to rim x 2 3/8 wide at base.
