This item is very rare. The Mt Washington fig shape is commonly found in salt & pepper as well as sugar shakers. It is extremely rare to find this item for sale. Made fig shaped glass containers for shakers but also made the "figmold" shape for toothpick holders and glue pots. The fig shaped pieces were made of translucent glass, satin glass, frosted glass and shaded glass in many colors.
They were often painted with floral decorations. This glue pot is a translucent russet color with a satin finish and yellow flowers, and it has a bark finish.
The pot is 4 inches tall (including the brush top) with a diameter of 3 7/8 inches. In bright light the bark finish reflects bright gold color and has a tinge of pink. The chick top is a heavy metal, but I do not know what it is. The brush is original and is 3 inches long. It is in very good condition.
As you can see in the photos, the neck of the pot is smooth... Free of any chips or defects. This pot is very rare...You can verify this by searching for it on the internet. Again, it was made by Mount Washington & Pairpoint Glass Co. Literature: Parallels Wilson - Mt. Washington & Pairpoint Glass, p. 12 - 26, 12 - 27. This item is for serious collectors...
