Conical Highly Chromatic Yellow Earthenware Bowl by Gertrud & Otto Natzler c1965
This fine conical slightly ogee shaped bowl with a lip was created in the Los Angeles studio of Gertrud and Otto Natzler. It has the taut thin walls thrown by Gertrude in red clay and the highly glossy yellow chromatic glaze by Otto. The color resembles one by the Natzlers in the New York Museum of Modern Art. Both the interior and the exterior of the bowl show a subtle flow of more intense color that resemble waves. The glaze also has delineated the wheel produced concentric contours of both the interior and the exterior of the bowl. It is in fine condition except for an very tight 7/8 old hairline crack extending from the lip of the bowl (see our final photo).
The bowl is 5.25" in diameter at he lip and is 1.25" in diameter at the foot.
