This is a beautiful and rare shaker. It is called a chevarie pillar indicating that the outside is smooth and round but the inside has six ribs giving it an optic appearance. The decoration is the splendid Game Birds which are hand painted. The typical tall Game Birds shaker is an opaque vaseline and the examples of chevarie pictured in references are cranberry and blue.

This amber example may be a truly rare piece. Height is 3.5 inches without the top cap. Condition is very good as described above.
