


This lovely Stevens and Williams, Intaglio cut art glass bowl is a Baroque design with acanthus leaves, and florals. The bowl is b eautifully paired with a American sterling silver collar from J. Caldwell that is a reticulated design with scrolls, flowers and latticework. S&W Intaglio pattern is called Louis XVI, and depicts a small floral bouquet with a Laurel wreath and scrolling Acanthus leaves through out.
Glass engraver was John Orchard. Bowl shape # is 24917. Colour: Green cut to rose. Stevens and Williams marketed this gemstone colour as Alexandrite, and this one of the first colour combinations created by S&W. Caldwell is a exquisite jewelry and silversmith from Philadelphia , PA. Considered, one of the most prominent jewelry houses in American history during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movement. Known for his luxurious hand-made artisan pieces with European designs depicting floral and geometric curvatures.Hand etched with Va55V, I believe. Not sure if this is a design number.
Decorative monogrammed initials: GHP on the underneath of the rim. Design: Wildflowers depicting, Forget Me Knot, Daisies, Dianthus, and Lantanas.There is also open lattice and scrolling geometric motifs. With sterling collar, 6-3/8 diameter. Glass bowl is 4-3/8 diameter. The base is 2-3/4 diameter.
