Black and gilt glazed ceramic bowl, openwork decorated with gilded balls and gilded borders. Signed "Pelletier La Roue Vallauris". H: 5.5 cm D: 17 cm.

Georges Pelletier is a Belgian ceramist, trained in Paris at the Charpentier Academy then at the School of Arts and Crafts. He also learned alongside Pantzer and Léger and joined Accolay pottery. In 1961, he opened his studio in Paris and became known at the Saint-Ouen flea market. Bobois (la Roche Bobois) then notices his talent and offers him a collaboration.

He worked with them until 1973 when he decided to leave for Cannes. Even today he produces lamps and sculptures in clay modeled and enamelled in his so recognizable style. Artist: Georges Pelletier (born In 1938). Style: Rome and Ancient Greece. In good condition as on the photos.
