BEAUTIFUL BLENKO DECANTER WITH AIR TWIST STOPPER FROM THE MID-20TH CENTURY For your consideration is a lovely Blenko Decanter, which was designed in 1967 by Joel Myers 1960's Blenko. This beautiful hand blown decanter stands 14 1/2" tall, 13" at widest width, and the circumference is 39. This Blenko piece is almost 7 lbs. With the stopper weighing 1.5 lbs. Blenko Art Glass made paperweights in the air twist design.

The one on this bottle is almost identical to the paperweights. This stopper is in very good condition. The bottom of the stopper and the top inside of the decanter are ground to fit.

You must turn the stopper until it slides into the correct position and then it fits perfectly! The Decanter is in quite nice condition. It has no chips, repairs, or cracks.

This is in a Beautiful "Blenko Blue", which is also called "Turquoise". The color of this piece is more of a deep turquoise. The pictures make it look like a dark blue.

There are a few minor scrapes, but hardly noticeable to the naked eye. The bottom has some wear on the base from being moved to different locations in my house. Blenko's mid - 20th century glass reflects the modernist décor style of the 1940's through 1970's. The company's products were all hand made, very colorful and usually large in size. Blenko glass is almost always thick walled and heavy.

The highly characteristic glass usually has some bubbles and lines, and sometimes small inclusions from the furnace. Blenko Art Glass colors are vivid and some have become famous over the years with nicknames like "Blenko Blue". Many collectors enjoy grouping some of their favorite pieces together, especially Blenko Giants. Giants measure from 20 to 3 ft. Many collectors seek out the larger pieces as they are hard to find today because of the low survival rate of these glass pieces. Blenko Glass not only is highly collectible, but beautiful!!
